It’s that time of year, when my brain starts grinding away at gift ideas for the christmas holidays. I am sure I’m not the only one currently trying to scheme up ideas for secret santa, or stocking stuffers, family members etc! Well I have found something to make your gift giving woes a bit of a break! Before I do this though I feel like I must clarify that this post is in no way a ‘sponsored’ post, it is a product that speaks to my heart, it is practical, and is ethically what I stand for! And I am confident it will be all those things for you too!
It’s …. BALLS! Wooly dryer balls! Ladies please, heads out of the gutter! What kind of balls did you think I would recommend? LOL! Okay I had to…I mean there is going to be a lot of ball talking here, so it just felt right to tease you with some cheesy shock factor…ya know?! Even the owner had a hard time not cracking a ball joke when we were chatting…I mean it’s inevitably bound to come up right? Okay moving on!
When I was in Palm Springs on my yearly mother daughter getaway, I came across this amazing company called Organic Necessity It was Thursday night, and my mom and I had gone to the Thursday night fair that Palm Springs puts on every single week! If you haven’t been, GO! It’s a huge market full of vendors selling their craft. There is everything imaginable from art, clothing, food, to home goods! We happened to stumble upon this booth that we had never seen there before. I got to talking to the lady manning the tent and found out that she is the owner of this company, and she is based out of downtown Portland, Oregon. She was selling wooly drier balls, and homemade detergent. She employs women who are survivors of sex trafficking, domestic abuse and homelessness. These women hand make the wooly drier balls and it has helped them to have purpose, a job, and to get established enough to have their own home!
Not only are these wooly balls helping women in need, and supporting an incredible cause, they also reduce your cost in energy savings, product savings, are completely toxic free, and with the two balls you can get up to 1500 loads out of them! Another feature..feature? Can I call it that? I’m not sure..I’ll stick to it anyways! So as I was saying, another feature these wooly balls have is that you can place a few drops of your favourite essential oil on them and have your clothes smell of the aroma of your choice! You can also purchase a spray from Organic Necessity to spray on them before they pop in the dryer!
I have use dryer balls from the health food store before..but they were always so dang loud and I couldn’t handle it! I haven’t loved using dryer sheets for the sole purpose that I know they aren’t good for us or the environment! So finding a product that is safe and actually works without sounding like someone is trying to bust my door down is amazing! Oh and my laundry smells heavenly of lavender! I’m telling you..you need to grab a pair or two…of wooly balls that is! Yeesh! Seriously..heads out of the gutter!
